STATEMENT OF FAITH

In adherence to clear, core Biblical doctrine we together identify with and affirm the following brief statement of faith:

1.    We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the Word of God and the final authority in faith and conduct.  Consequently, they teach us what is true and make us realize what is wrong in our lives, correcting us and teaching us to do what is right.  God uses them to prepare us in every way, fully equipping us for every good thing God wants us to do.

2.    We believe in one God, the Creator of all things including mankind.  He eternally exists as three Persons, in a triune relationship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3.    We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by his mother Mary through the Holy Spirit, while she was yet a virgin.  He is and was sinless, the image of the invisible God, and in him God dwells in all His fullness.  He is and was God become flesh and lived among mankind.

4.    We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also the spiritual death which is separation from God; that Adam's sin is imputed to the whole race of mankind, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, sinners before God in thought, word and deed.  Scriptures such as Matthew 18:6, 10, 2 Sam. 12:23, Jn. 9:41 give us a sure hope in the grace of God extended toward those who die prematurely and are unable to willfully reject God's revelation through Christ and conscience.

5.    We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the sins of all according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are freely justified and stand before God accepted in the character and merit of Jesus Christ--that salvation is offered to all who recognize and acknowledge their sinfulness to God, who repent and turn to God for His forgiveness through the finished work of Christ on the cross.  This alone gives us a right to be called children of God.

6.    We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, His ascension into Heaven; He is the Head of the Church, the Lord of the individual believer, the High Priest over the household of God and our Advocate before the Father.

7.    We believe in the physical, earthly return of Christ to gather His people to Himself that we may remain with Him forever.

8.    We believe that all those who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are spiritually reborn by the Holy Spirit, Who then permanently indwells them and unites them to the spiritual body of Christ, His Church.

9.    We believe in water baptism as an outward sign of an inward experience for those who have by faith, received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.   Baptism identifies us with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.  It symbolizes the ultimate death of our sinful nature and our resurrection to a newness of life--a new nature in the likeness of Christ.  It represents our being joined by the Holy Spirit to the body of Christ.  It is a singular identification with the living presence of Christ.  In this sense it symbolizes the spiritual unification of all believers in the name of Christ.

10.    We believe in the bodily resurrection of both, the righteous and the unrighteous—the righteous to eternal blessing in the presence of God, the unrighteous, who live for themselves and refuse to obey the truth, to wrath and eternal separation from God.
